Summary
Keep your perfect offerings... is a metaphorical piece about imperfection and the embracing of the flawed or imperfect. "From an artistic point of view I am also interested in visual disturbance and flaws, as this often leads to a new technique or way of seeing something".
The title (in part) references the lyrics from a Leonard Cohen song Anthem, which are part of the chorus “ring the bells that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”.
Ché Finch is also interested Kintsugi, the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with gold, which as a philosophy treats 'damage and repair' as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise or hide.
