Summary

Ché Finch made Forest between 2011 and 2013.  As such it forms a unity between earlier work exploring foraging as a literal and internal theme and later work researching landscape.

Forest  is a large hand coiled bowl that tapers to a narrow base. Several layers of green glazes have been painted and poured onto the surface during several phases using wax and latex resists. There are two distinct halves to Forest, one side is smooth with layered glazes to create an irridescense, whilst the other is rough and textured with a mixture of green and blue bariums layered between additional glazes and oxides. Gold leaf accents create a divide between the two halves on the interior of the bowl.
