Summary
Dave's Avilion denotes the start of a new series exploring predominantly urban subterranean landscapes, alongside the nuanced intellectual and emotional landscape of the human condition. Exploring duality and sublimity.
Initially Dave's Avilion was created with Glastonbury in mind (and subliminally probably Glastonbury Tor), emerging from research and concepts facilitating 'deep work' aimed at innovating and in creating environments that cultivate intense focus and the facilitation of deep work (in relation to neuroplasticity).
The work may also mark the start of a collaborative project specifically looking at large scale underground projects which play a major part in connecting our worlds and which largely go unseen.
Resonant wording, themes are: "... when I was a child I had a fever, my hands were bright red... this is just not how I am. I have become uncomfortably numb". A play on Pink Floyds 'Comfortably Numb' lyrics. Which relates to the artists childhood when she had a fever with bright red hands, in part contrasting this experience with the nature of adulthood.
